Ken Kam, CEO, Marketocracy Funds

Of the 50,000 stock managers we evaluate, we have the means to evaluate and choose the best stock pickers in the world. The track record of our Marketocracy m100 fund exceeds the performance of any of the funds in its category, and we attribute this to Ron Surz' StokTrib performance attribution software.
Dianna Zentner, Executive Vice President, London Pacific Advisors

"With more than 100 managers and $3 billion under management, we needed a performance attribution software that was sophisticated but easy to use. That's why we love StokTrib – it has many useful tools in one small package. In addition, the installation was quick and training our staff was easy.

StokTrib's point style map validates the actual holdings of the managers' portfolios, which is far more useful than returns-based style analyses, which evaluate performance returns and ignores the underlying influences of the manager's holdings."
Andre Kamber, CIMA, Dana Investment Advisers

"As investment managers, our objectives are somewhat different than most consultants. We like to dissect our own performance, and try to understand where we are adding value and where we are not. This helps us be better managers in that we have a robust feedback loop for our own investment process, and provides us with some objective proof that we do have skill, even when returns are negative.

What Ron's program does is to allow us to drill down past what style is in favor or not, proving to consultants and clients that there is skill in the management of the portfolio; where the skill is derived from; and if it is persistent over time.
What's really unique is Ron's style indices. The Surz indices offer several improvements over the status quo style benchmarks available today. They solve a lot of the inherent problems evident with the traditional style indices, and frankly, their construction just make sense. Also, his use of PODs is just a smarter way to make performance comparisons."
Thomas Quinlin, CIMA, Lifestyle Design Group LLC

"We use StokTrib attribution analysis on about 50 managers every quarter, to help us filter through lists of old managers and if necessary, replace with new managers. Stoktrib helps us make decisions quickly because quarterly updates come out so quickly after quarter end, including universes.

Portfolio opportunities distributions (POD), are simulated by the computer creating a pseudo universe benchmark to measure performance against. Stoktrib tends to be very accurate in giving a ranking number that matches the real universe, but data is much more timely, which is critical in managing money.

Oftentimes we like to measure managers' style purity. Unlike most applications on the market, StokTrib allows us to run holdings based style analysis as opposed to returns based style analysis. Using StokTrib as a tool, we have much more of an objective measure."
